The COOL Center congratulates Dr. Petar Penev of the Williams lab with a successful oral defense of his PhD thesis entitled: "Ribosomal Evolution at the Intersection of Sequence and Structure"! Petar has been at GT for the last 5 years and performed a variety of studies on phylogeny, evolution and visualization of the translational machinery. We wish Petar a successful and productive post doctoral training with Prof. Jillian Banfield at Berkeley!
