On Tuesday March 9, 2021, Dr. Yuhong Wang will be a guest speaker at the COOL meeting. She is a biophysicist and associate professor in the department of biology and biochemistry at the University of Houston. Her research lab is applying single molecule fluorescence microscopy to study the ribosome translation mechanism. Her presentation will be focused on her work researching rRNA and tRNA fragments and their interactions to learn more about the peptidyl transfer center and the evolution of the ribosome.
