Georgia Tech COVID-19 Test Kit Protocol Featured in ASBMB

Georgia Tech and the COOL team's efforts in designing and publishing a protocol for labs to make COVID-19 RT-PCR test kits have been recognized in an ASBMB article. The project was headed by Loren Williams along with contributions made by scientists and students, including COOL member Sara Fahkretaha–Aval who is one of the co-first authors of the original paper. Through this paper, the scientists hope that academic labs will produce their own test kits and increase available resources against COVID-19 by providing efficient procedures on developing the test kits at reduced costs.
