Pursuing a B.S in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and Biochemistry, Georgia Institute of Technology

Research Interests:

I am currently working on investigating the evolution of translation initiation factors across all domains of life using a structure-based approach. More specifically, I am interested in determining whether the translation initiation factor IF3 evolved as a result of a duplication-mutation event or if it is homologous to its eukaryotic and archaeal counterparts elF1 and alF1. In addition to this I am responsible for creating a library containing the superimposition of multiple translation initiation factors.
