Research Interests:

Sara is a third-year graduate student who completed her B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Karaj Azad University. After graduation, she worked as a medical laboratory assistant for two years. In 2015, she joined Professor Brian Petrich's lab in the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University to investigate the mechanisms that regulate tumor angiogenesis. Her current research in Professor Loren Williams’ lab is focused on understanding of the structural evolution and function of the small subunit of ribosomal RNA. She is also interested in exploiting ribosomal RNA as a drug target to treat cancer and infectious diseases.
